Locked ouf of the house

It happens to the best of us, you’re standing in front of your house and can’t get in. Maybe you forgot the key in the office or worse lost it somewhere. According to a survey by Schlage, a national lock manufacturer, getting locked out of the house happens more often than you’d think. Some homeowners get locked out up to five times a year  after losing their keys or “hiding” spare keys so well they forgot where they put them.

Your first impulse might very well be to try to remedy this situation yourself, understandably so. You’re locked out of your home, you’re upset and you need to get in. What should you do?  Keep calm, don’t panic and try to remember where you lost your keys, look one more time in the obvious spots. Some places where people find their missing keys: women often find them in their purse, men more likely in their pocket, some homeowners find them in a drawer at the office and some find them in the car.

If you still can’t find your keys or remember where you might have lost them call your local locksmith. Don’t try to force the lock open yourself, chances are you’ll be doing more harm than good.
