If you’ve been watching the news you know that emergencies can happen unexpectedly anywhere. We’ve seen tornados, floods, snow in October that crippled the entire state of Connecticut and affected millions of people for days and even weeks.

Rescue personnel may not always be able to reach you quickly in an emergency or disaster. The most important thing you can do is being prepared to take care of yourself and your family.

Besides following these steps you can also use social media to let friends and family know that you have “a plan”:

  • Share your plan on Facebook
  • Use hashtag #NATLPREP on Twitter.
